A Strategic Vision for Success
Over many years, our strategy has been refined to better serve both our franchisees and their clients. A heritage of expertise and innovation are clearly part of our company's vibrant history, which began with our largest franchise company.
Sir Speedy was founded in 1968 and grew quickly. In 1977, it was purchased by Kampgrounds of America (KOA), the leader in its industry. Don Lowe was selected by KOA to lead the company. This association was critical in building the financial discipline and strategic focus that defines the company today. Don Lowe remains today as President and CEO of Franchise Services, Inc.
From the beginning, the strategy was to focus on serving the growing number of small and medium-sized businesses. It involved a more proactive approach to sales and the adoption of advanced technologies to better meet the needs of our customers. It also meant finding new resources to more completely meet this market's total communication needs.
In 1990, Digital QuickColor was formed as a state-of-the-art research and development facility, with emphasis placed on evaluating and developing cutting edge technology to better serve our business clients.
Summit Marketing Communications was established to generate more creativity and professionalism in the marketing and advertising programs we provide to our franchisees.
In 1996, Franchise Services, Inc. was formed as the parent company of Sir Speedy. Its purpose was to provide the structure for developing and acquiring additional franchise companies to serve the needs of the small to medium-sized business market.
As part of this plan, FSI purchased Postal Instant Press (PIP Printing), a leading franchise brand of printing centers in the U.S. and England. It also purchased MultiCopy, the largest European chain of printing and copy centers.
In 2004, FSI continued to expand its family of offerings to our target markets with the creation of TeamLogic IT™, a national franchise providing comprehensive IT services to small and medium-sized companies. Its network infrastructure provides these businesses with a broad range of IT services formerly only available to large corporations.
Today Franchise Services, Inc. applies its strategy and sound principles of management to its entire network of franchises, subsidiaries and strategic partners.
